The Brief

MoneyGirl was founded in early 2019 by Mariam Mohammed and Mellisa Ma after they discovered a need for financial education targeted at young women embarking on their new careers. After finishing their university studies, they realised there was very little support for women who wish to become financially literate and take control of their money.  In fact, there wasn’t really any financial information out there that was relatable to the young working woman. Sick of bland and overly generic financial information, they created MoneyGirl to help women take control of their finances and create a supportive community in the process. MoneyGirl designs and delivers financial literacy workshops on specific topics. Each topic is chosen carefully with a focus on improving women’s personal finances.

This brief focuses on the research and design of a revamp to the MoneyGirl website. The goals of the website are to:

  • Drive subscription to the MoneyGirl newsletter
  • Capture interest in programs when enrolments are closed (waitlist)
  • Enrol students in program when enrolments are open

Students are to research the MoneyGirl target audience and design an improvement to the conversion flow for the above goals. Students should consider the best practice usability improvements to the website and to ensure clear communication of MoneyGirl’s value proposition.

Primary Tasks

  1. Conduct user research with the MoneyGirl Target audience
  2. Design an enhanced user flow to improve MoneyGirls conversion goals
